Varies depending on focus but as an example: technical and theoretical knowledge, design and production development as well as handling and processing of tools and materials.

The technology program is broad and prepares you for, for example, CNC operator or machinist.
+ A fourth year
You can choose a fourth year in the technology program. An extension that combines theory and practice, which gives you the opportunity to work as a technician in, among other things, the wood and furniture industry.
Post-secondary education
What can you do?
Through Yrkes Vux, vocational education, you who have passed high school age can get a vocational education in wood technology via high school adult education.

Labor market training via the employment agency
Apprenticeships are available as upper secondary education and adult education.
Eligibility for the university is reintroduced on the vocational programmes.
The students who start the upper secondary school's vocational program in 2023 will again be eligible for higher studies.

Machinist
Machinist - You work close to the structures of the wood and you have manual and computer-controlled machines to help you. You shape, plane and saw that little extra for doors, windows, furniture and much more. A craft with a scent of wood.
Furniture & interior joinery
Furniture & interior joinery - Imagine one day being able to visit the hotel that has decorated the lobby with armchairs that you have created, or to see that unique coffee table in a shop window with the knowledge - I have done that. As a cabinetmaker, you decorate Sweden and the world, you create unique furniture in smaller series or specially ordered interiors.
Production technicians
Production technicians - You are production's guide and problem solver. You ensure that production runs smoothly and that products of good quality are produced. You see what needs to be improved and drive development forward, together with the colleagues for whom you are also responsible.
Product developer
Product developer - When the customers' needs change, you make sure that the products also develop, you come up with new innovative and smart solutions that change and simplify the lives of many people. You are a brainstormer with technical skills.
Seller
Seller - With technical and social competence, you understand the customer's needs and can offer products that meet the market's expectations. Your customers can be hardware stores, furniture stores, housing companies, and with the gift of speech you make sure to drive the company's sales forward.
Surface treatment
Surface treatment - The final finishing touch is done by you, you make the products shine by varnishing and painting the wood. You mix paint and create works of art, manually or with special spraying machines.
