The fast track

The Fast Track is a collaborative project between TMF (Wood and Furniture Companies), the GS union and the Swedish Public Employment Service. The aim of the project is to create a faster path to the labour market for newcomers with relevant knowledge and experience. Träbransch Norr has been commissioned to inform the parties' member companies in southern Norrbotten and Västerbotten about the Fast Track and its recruitment opportunities.

The target group for the initiative is newly arrived people with relevant education or relevant experience and an interest in working in the wood and furniture industry. Companies with recruitment needs have the opportunity to find workers through the fast track. Within the wood industry there are a large number of professions that can be considered for a fast track, some examples are;

  • Machinists and machine operators
  • Planing operators
  • Installers
  • Fine - Interior and furniture carpenter
  • Machine operator surface treatment
  • Woodworker, Carpenter

etc.

The fast track is implemented through effective matching and functioning supervision, a working model that takes place in the following steps;

  • Mapping of experiences, education and personal characteristics,
  • Validation,
  • Occupational competency assessment in the workplace,
  • Supplementary training
