The wood industry has great recruitment needs – over the next five years we will need a total of 1100 people. It is partly about replacing retirements, but also about finding the right skills for tomorrow's need for knowledge, experience and renewal. As Västerbotten's wood industry has strong growth potential, it is of great importance to fill the positions with competent and motivated labour. The level of competence of the new recruits is crucial for the industry's future development.
With iWood, we want to create a sustainable model that can also be used in other regions and industries. The project has received funding from the ESF Council and runs from June 2011 to November 2012.
